Te Kohanga School

In 2021 we were engaged by Mitre10 to work with them and their Helping Hands team to build fantastic new playgrounds for six lucky schools. This incredibly generous gift has enabled these schools to give their current and future students amazing play spaces that they will use for many years to come.
At Playground People we are super passionate about providing great quality playgrounds for our New Zealand schools. In working with Mitre10, we have found a partner who is equally as passionate about giving back to their local communities.

Tamariki at Te Kohanga School in Port Waikato now have a new play space, thanks to Mitre 10's Helping Hands Project Playground initiative. The low-decile rural school has a fluctuating roll and serves a small community spread across a wide area. The new play space is a multi-purpose area that inspires imaginative play and includes fixed musical instruments, a basket swing, tipi, deck, performing stage and a sandpit with sand play Worksite and tools. Mitre 10's Pukekohe team spent several days at the school, working on the project, and the playground was unveiled and gifted to the school as part of Mitre 10's Helping Hands Project Playground initiative. The smiles on the kid’s faces say it all!
