Weber School were due for a new playground and as a small rural community lacking in public play facilities, the close-knit Weber School family decided to make this a play area for the whole community to enjoy. The school wanted a big structure with real presence that could be seen from the road and that could fit all the kids of Weber School at one time. We designed a suitably challenging structure based around the impressive 5m high Octagonal Tower – a nod to the ‘oldschool’ fort structures still found in many rural schools - which comes complete with a spiral tube slide, climbing wall and fire pole. This tower connects to a lower and more accessible tower which leads to a playful circuit that suitable for all age groups within the school. The main structure is capped off with three classic turning bars – so simple but always well used.

Like most pubic playgrounds this playground needed the latest in dynamic play to add some extra zing to the play area. The school decided on our latest spinner – the very accessible Kompan Tipi Carousel, several kids can sit, stand or lie together in this super quick spinner, the handles can be used for support or to help users on the outside to really get the Tipi spinning fast. No public play space would be complete swings and Weber School opted for our two Bay Ace Swings with a 1.2m wide basket and two standard swing seats, at 3m tall these Ace Swings offer plenty of height and thrill for any one.

“Playground People have just installed our fabulous purpose built community playground at Weber. We found them fantastic to deal with, great customer service, nothing was a problem! They listened to our ideas and requests and really took these on board when designing the playground for these country kids. They worked in with us in every respect and we would confidently recommend them to others.” - Davina Clarkson, Weber School PTA
