Based on our original New Zealand designed and made Palisade climbing structure the Piki-rākau Palisade was custom designed especially for the amazing Whānau Ātea Playground in Mangere, Auckland. has the chunky timber aesthetic from playgrounds of old packed with the best of modern play value.
Made to accommodate loads of kids at any one time, the transparent visuals and heavy-duty construction mean that this structure is suitable for natural, coastal and urban environments.
The asymmetrical design means that the Piki-rākau Palisade can be approached and climbed from any direction and the elevated nets allow for plenty of hang-out space.
Starting at ground level kids makes their way up, over and around the nets and posts, finishing at about 3m high before entering the Stainless-Steel tube slide.
There is also a 1.2m wide basket underneath for socialising as well as a firepole, overhead rung ladder and the unique Arawhata – based on a traditional Māori vine-ladder used for climbing tall trees.
