Panmure District School wanted to upgrade their old playgrounds and turn an unused grass space into one large combination playground for their tamariki to grow and develop through play.
Working alongside the school, we developed a design centred around the CT765 V9 module, providing a good mix of climbing, balancing, sliding and social play opportunities within the available space.
The aim was to maximise play value while creating enough challenge for both junior and senior students.
The playground includes 2 towers as high focal points of the playground showing clear pathways for skill, ability and imagination.
Further maximising play value with bridges, monkey bars, climbing elements and slides that encourage students to build strength, coordination, balance and confidence through play.
The layout creates spaces where students can interact, play together and challenge themselves at their own level.
A standout feature of the project is the custom safety surfacing, which was designed around the school's identity. Using the school's colours, the surfacing incorporates koru patterns inspired by the Panmure District School logo and uniform, helping tie the playground into the wider school environment.
The school's RISE values were also integrated into the design, reinforcing these messages in a space students use every day.
The end result is a durable and engaging playground that provides a wide range of play opportunities while reflecting the culture and identity of Panmure District School.
