Flinders Place Playground in Wellington has been designed to provide a range of engaging play experiences for younger children. The main playground features interconnected playhouse towers linked by a rope bridge, encouraging children to explore the entire structure through continuous play.
Climbing activities, slides, bridges and balance elements are complemented by swings, a seesaw, tip carousel, puppy springer and talk tubes, while an integrated shopfront and play car encourage imaginative role play and social interaction. Inclusive features, including an accessible tipi, inclusive basket swing and You & Me swing, ensure children of different ages and abilities can play alongside family and friends. Accessible entry points throughout the playground further support inclusive play across the site.
Push-up bars located alongside the playground provide an opportunity for parents, caregivers and older users to incorporate strength training while supervising children.
Located within a fully fenced dog park, the playground offers a safe, enclosed environment for families while complementing the surrounding park. Natural timber construction is paired with vibrant green play elements and durable Matta Tiles safety surfacing, with pops of green incorporated throughout the checkerboard design to create a modern, welcoming playspace that blends with its surroundings.
