Kaipātiki Reserve Playground – Award-Winning Play for All
Winner of the 2025 Recreation Aotearoa Healthy Park Award and proudly earning a Merit Award for Play Space of the Year, Kaipātiki Reserve Playground in Parakai is a vibrant community destination that brings people together.
This new wāhi tākaro celebrates Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara heritage through thoughtful design and traditional play elements. Tamariki can explore a stunning 7-metre Kompan Rope Play Tower, four trampolines (including a wheelchair-accessible one), carousels, tunnels, a modern vine swing, and a striking māra hūpara – all designed to suit a range of abilities and play styles.
More than a playground, it’s a space to connect, reflect, and enjoy the outdoors. With BBQ areas, shaded seating, accessible toilets, and plenty of parking, it's easy for whānau and friends to spend time here.
This project is a true collaboration. We acknowledge the leadership of Te Poari o Kaipātiki ki Kaipara, the creative direction of Resilio Studio, artist Bernard Makoare, and the expertise of māra hūpara specialist Harko Brown. The immaculate site works were carried out by Decker Landscapes.
Whether you're a local or just passing through, come and discover a space where play, culture, and community thrive.
