A beautiful setting like the Matahi Scenic Reserve on the shores of Lake Rotoma should only have facilities that complement the natural splendor of one of New Zealand’s most picturesque parks. For this reason, Rotorua Lakes Council chose a selection of Kompan Robinia and our own PlatinumPlay timber range of play equipment for the redevelopment of the reserves play space. This compact site sits neatly between the carpark and the lake shore and contains a great range of play experiences – swinging, sliding climbing, sensory and imaginative play.
A clever little piece of futureproofing in the design is the inclusion of Pohutakawa trees that, in time, will provide perfect natural shade for those hot summer days when the lake will be teeming with visitors, planted with the aesthetics of the surrounds firmly in mind
